The text within my notes keep duplicating - i have to keep restoring old version. I suspect it may be due to me having evernote web open on different desktops at different times but I cant avoid that as I use different computers for work,

I've seen that happen in the Android mobile app, usually when my keyboard app has suggested a text completion and I've accepted it. Could there be something similar happening in your case?

i dont know. this happens on windows, on the web version when im using chrome. I can't figure what the reasoning is as to why some notes get dupilcated like this and others dont.

Yes, it always seems very random to me too. Using it on a Windows machine, assuming a standard keyboard setup, invalidates my autocorrect hypothesis. Perhaps some glitch in the constant sync? Honestly, the only real answer you're likely to get on something like this is from Evernote support, whose technical people know what's going on under the hood: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. But that requires a paid subscription.
