Images in Note Replaced by Spinning Wheels

Recommended Posts

All the images embedded in one of my notes have disappeared suddenly and been replaced by spinning wheels that never resolve. This is on the iOS version of the app (up to date), though the Mac desktop version of the App also is missing the images. See attached screenshot.

I have seen other topics recommend opening a support ticket. However, because I am a free plan customer, the website does not allow me to open a support ticket. Is it possible to resolve this, or has Evernote just deleted all of my images in the note?

Hi.  If those 'images' were linked from another web source,  the originals may have been moved or deleted,  or your database may have been damaged in some way,  or the files are large and take time to download.  If you are a subscriber I'd suggest contacting Support for assistance,  quoting the URL(s) from which the images came.

Thank you for your reply. In this case, rather than a URL link, I dragged or copy-pasted the images directly into the note. I have left the note open for an hour or more thinking it might be load time, but they have not appeared yet.

Unfortunately, I don't have the original URLs for the files. I just copy-pasted the images into the note, not thinking that would be a risk for losing them entirely.

I am not a paid subscriber and the website does not let me open a support ticket. Does Evernote not offer any support whatsoever for free-tier end users? The issue seems to be with the app, and the only way to recover the images being through the back end.

If you were a subscriber - even if only for a month if you had that option - you could use the Note History option to 'go back' to an earlier version of the note and -maybe- restore the images from there.  (These are separate backups taken from every account,  paid or not,  several times each day.)

Like many other big aplications Evernote does not offer support to free users - it is impractical with over 200 million of them.  You may be able to get some help via https://twitter.com/evernotehelps but otherwise this Forum (or some similar ones on social media) is the only option.

Use note history to view older versions of a note

Opened a support case weeks ago, but so far no resolution.

I think the team is a little busy for some reason...  if you have a ticket number to quote,  we can maybe flag that for an Admin here to look at?
