Need to free space on hard drive

I'm a longtime Evernote user. I need to free up space on my hard drive. Disk Aid, on my Mac, shows:

Users > me > Library > Application Support > Evernote  25.63 GB

Users > me > Library > Containers > Evernote 80.11 GB

I have external drives attached that have plenty of space. Can I move either of these?

Google for symbolic link / symlink. It is the way to move the real database to another location. EN itself doesn’t provide for this option.

Only use a SSD, preferably a fast one. EN will not run well on any turning disk.

I used the symlink workaround for several years (using a SD card permanently installed in the card slot), until I upgraded my MacBook to one with more disk space. It works, some technical knowledge is required, but after I moved my data to my new computer's main disk, there was a noticeable improvement in performance in Evernote

Sure - the internal SSD of the Macs is suuuuperfast 🏎️

But between internal and external SSD it is between fast and superfast. With a HDD it may not even work (especially when it gets fragmented).
