NotableHippo 0
I have been an Evernote user for many years. The number of notes stored increases every way. The size of the Evernote sore on the harddisk has become a problem for me. it is by default stored in a hive on the C drive. On my laptop the C drive is quite tiny and the D drive has a much larger capacity. When the C drive fills up enough, I can't install any new applications, and space for updates, swap, etc Is there a way to tell EN to keep the data hive on the D drive? Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,829 Posted December 7, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted December 7, 2022 You need to do some footwork, and can move the database to another location. Search for „symbolic link“ or „symlink“, either here in the forum or in a search engine. One example: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ General remark: I hope „harddisk“ means an SSD, not one of these older drives with a spinning magnetic disk. EN (both legacy and v10) don’t perform well when running from a real spinning drive. Link to comment

CA Rajesh Pabari 0
I have downgraded to Evernote Legacy version from the following link and it worked. I could choose the folder location for database. https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote https://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.25.3.9348.exe Link to comment
tom_roger 3
Oh, I was thinking that I am the only one who have this issue because I am using 128 gb ssd that was enough but now a days it is not working well. 😪 Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,829 Posted January 22, 2023 Level 5 Share Posted January 22, 2023 The solution is posted 3 posts above yours. A 128GB SSD offers what other people use as a to-go USB stick. You always have to keep in mind that future software will likely grow - what looks like sufficient today won't do in 5 years. Link to comment
