10 second sync delay every time app is launched

I'm using Evernote v 10.17.8  on macos 10.15.7.
Since the last but one update I get the green circle animation for 10 seconds or more every time I launch the app.
Is this a sync problem? 
BTW I'm  sick and tired of being asked to update the app several times a week. It feels like I've become a beta tester!

I am observing the same, and think it needs to check things before ramping up. Should do in the background, though …

Workaround: Start EN right away, not when you need it first.

Plus issue a support ticket, to make them aware of being annoyed by it.

How do I raise a support ticket? Couldn't find a way to do this earlier, hence why I came here.
