After upgrading to Evernote 10, I reverted to the legacy version. The ability to use tabs and to "jump" to various notebooks is essential to my business. I expect that you will end the legacy version at some point and if, at that time, you have not incorporated tabs and "jump", my business and all of our clients will move to another software application.
