Checklist wasn't saved after the upgrade

Hi. My Evernote has just been upgraded and I lost the latest version of the notes I had. It is a checklist where I tick the boxes off when I have complete a task and I write notes next to it. I found that the checklist was still there but all my notes and ticked off boxes have gone.

In future is there a danger of losing the latest saved version of my checklists?

Whoever knows ? 

EN content needs to be synced to the server, because all data is saved there. Until this has happened, the data only lives in a sort of cache inside of the app. 

Before you upgrade ANY program, all changes should be saved, and the program closed if possible. The cache will be erased with the old version, with a risk of loosing data.
