Small pop-up appearing with no content

I am using Evernote for Windows 10.12.6-win-ddl-public (2583) and it keeps popping up a small window with no text in it, only a black pane, even when the app is closed. I'm assuming it's trying to ask me if I want to upgrade to a new version but I can't do anything because it's not displaying any text or buttons. When I open Evernote and ask it to check for updates, I get a very very similar blank window. Changing my dark mode setting from "use system default" (which gives me dark) to "light mode" only changes the background color of this pop-up from black to white; there is still nothing visible. What can I do to fix this?

Hi.  Seems to me you could try uninstalling your current setup / restart your device and reinstall - if you download a new installer from Evernote.com you will then have the latest version - which if it continues automatically excludes the possibility that it's an upgrade message.
