Launch Evernote Helper but not full-blown Evernote app on Startup?

Hey folks - just returning to Evernote after a few year hiatus.  I'd like to know how to enable the Evernote Helper (elephant icon in menu bar) to load on machine startup, but not load the full evernote app.     This used to be how the helper tool worked - but I can't seem to find a setting anywhere to enable this any longer.

 

I am trying to limit CPU usage and the number of apps which load before I actually need them.  I do use the Evernote helper religiously to grab content and drop it into evernote - but I don't want to open Evernote every time - I want this done more in the background as it used to be.   

Can someone point me to where I can change this or how to configure it?  Or let me know if that functionality has been changed?

Install the legacy app.

Its helper can be started on starting the computer, without a need to start the app itself at the same time.
