DKKL 0
After the latest update I can no longer log into my account using the Mac desktop app. When I display the password in the text box I can see that digits 24+ have been cut off. Why does the new version no longer support long passwords? Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,117 Posted November 23, 2020 Level 5 Share Posted November 23, 2020 How long a password do you want to use ? Putting quantum computers aside, a good password (upper/lower/numbers/symbols) of 15 digits today is unbreakable in realistic scenarios. With each additional digit cracking time further grows exponentially. AFAIK 24 digits is beyond any foreseeable cracking technology. Even if you use a passphrase (with less complex content) 24 is more than enough to be safe. More important is the use of 2FA in addition to the password, because it adds a dynamic cipher to the static password. 1 Link to comment
