Getting notes off Evernote platform

Hi there-

Unfortunately, I'm not very tech savvy. I now have my notes saved on my application on my laptop, but how do I save my notes outside of Evernote? Like a back up on an external drive or directly onto my laptop, not on the app. My notes need to be in a secure place and encrypted for HIPAA compliance. I need to get them off evernote asap. Any steps would be very appreciated. Evernote could not help me with this. (I currently have a premium subscription).  Also, Is there another source outside evernote for me write and save my notes on my iPad to easily transfer to my Macbook?

Export is a feature on the Windows and Mac platforms    
I run a weekly full export as backup (html format)
