How many people click on a shared link?

Hi.  It's not possible to track clicks though Evernote.  However if you share a shortened link,  such as http://bit.ly/2HRrPpt (links back to this page) the link provider will supply stats about who clicked on the link and when.

Shortened links can be a little suspicious since they can be used to hide malware links too;  though again in Bitly - and presumably others - it's possible to personalize the links to make them more user-friendly.

Does Evernote have any plans to do URL shortening + tracking clicks?

Is this a legitimate way to count the number clicks?

Hi.  It is legitimate to count clicks on a page you own - it helps to fine-tune the content for users visiting your page.  How you count clicks depends on what your software can do for you.

Which software it is? I would like to try this one. Thank you so much!

I wasn't promoting one specific tool - what you can do depends on which app you are using and what type of content you're measuring.  At it's simplest there are link-shorteners like https://bitly.com/ which can change a long Evernote page link into something like https://bit.ly/2WQXBw1 (which links back to this page) - and will tell you how often that link gets clicked.

Otherwise - and depending on what you need - there's... https://shanebarker.com/blog/web-analytics-tools/
