Can't open evernote in High Sierra

Am I going to lose all my local/private notebooks because High Sierra won't let me open Evernote? Is there any way to recover them?

Reinstalling the app should not impact the data.

It would be a good idea to back up your database.  
For the app downloaded directly from Evernote, the  database location is /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/com.evernote.Evernote/accounts/www.evernote.com
A different location for the app store download

For future reference; all users with local notebooks should be backing up their data.
