Can Handwritten notes be searchable?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Apologies if this is a stupid question. I'm aware that business cards can be scanned with the text lifted off of the card so that they can be searchable but does anyone know how/if you can do this with handwritten notes? For example if I have a handwritten note saying 'reminder', it'd be good if I could search 'reminder' and have it appear. Or even turn the handwriting into text?

Thanks,

David

Evernote has an OCR process, used for building a search index; documentation at https://blog.evernote.com/tech/2013/07/18/how-evernotes-image-recognition-works/

This includes handwriting in images; not pdfs

>>Or even turn the handwriting into text?

I use this feature in GoodNotes on my iPad to transcribe my handwritten notes

I use Myscript Stylus, and alternate keyboard on my iPad to convert my handwriting to text

Thanks for your help and extended advice.

Is the OCR only available to premium members?
