How to create a note on iPhone?

I recently opened my iPhone Evernote app after a long time. There have been several version updates since I last used it. But now, I cannot find ANY way in the app UI to create a note. I can see notes, change which notebook I am looking at, delete notebooks, etc. But, I cannot find any text, button, nor control that lets me create a note. I used to be able to create notes from my phone. Am I missing something obvious??
