(Archived) is anyone else having sync problems with their mac client?

keep getting this message:

Sync failure: unexpected transfer error

Synchronization failed because of an unexpected data transfer error with the Evernote servers. If the problem persists, please contact Evernote technical support.

i have now, btw, gone back, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled--as other thread posts about this have suggested. nothing has changed. also, this is generally a totally inadequate (and infuriating) response even when it works.

I am seeing sync problems as well, although the symptoms are different. Basically Evernote sits at "Downloading changes..." forever. I've literally left it running all day at work and never got synced. I opened a case with tech support but just wanted to chime in here as well. The log file is (to me) wholly unhelpful unfortunately, no indication of which note is gumming up the works:

If you try to run a Sync, and it doesn't work, you should confirm that you can log in to your account using Safari on the same machine without seeing any errors or warnings.

Not sure if this was directed at me, but it indirectly helped resolve my issue :) I logged into the web version of Evernote and saw one note there that did not appear in my Mac client. I deleted that note and Evernote immediately started working again. So thank you for your post!

For the record, when I came back to my Mac after an hour or so of Evernote trying to sync, it had crashed. These were the final log entries:

2010-05-18 23:47:49 0xa26750 [ENAppController] ERROR: EXCEPTION: Attempt to allocate 65536 bytes for NS/CFData failed

If you've opened a support inquiry, we'd still like to get your full Activity Log. You can use the "Save As..." button in the Activity Log window to save the detailed log to a file, and then attach that to your reply to the support inquiry email.
