In the latest Evernote version, I just installed the left panel has a black background. I hate it. How do I change it back to the old white background?

Tools -> Options -> General -> User Interface

Change Left panel theme from default (dark) to light.

Same here, not only I hate the dark background, it made my reading the light colored text impossible due to my eye condition. So glad there's an option to change it back to the while background/dark text scheme.
