  1. You have been copied on Ticket # 3007535

    This is my ticket number.

Do to a fluke of losing my phone, having the battery die, and return to me today, I had all the notes in offline mode on the phone.  I charged up the phone, put it in airplane mode and copied all the notes into a new notebook.  So far this was the only thing that saved my but.  I just lose about 12 days of work.

As soon as I synced the old notebook was also gone off my phone.

    Thanks

    Rick

  2. Was on chrome doing administrative chores, since you can not do them on desktop.  I unpublished some notebooks and removed a user.  Suddenly my main notebook in which I keep all my current order info in is gone.  I did a chat but the rep said there is no activity log when using the web.  She next wanted to know if they were gone off all my devices, and they are except for one tablet that had not been connected for 12 days.  She said to go in there and copy and paste the notes, however, there was no info, just note titles.

As of now there is nothing else of which I can think to fix this issue.  I have been moved to level 2 support, but who knows when they will get to me.

None of the notes in that notebook were in the trash.

Anyone else have this issue with possible solution?

    TIA

    Rick

  3. Hi.  Sorry for a long delay in responding here.  This last month has been a little busy...

I can see where work chat wouldn't affect shared notes.  Work Chat is kind've an alternative to sharing,  not something you can use as well.  One user can only work chat on items that user owns.  Someone who is unable to send or receive messages though is not sending correctly,  not using the right email address,  or not plugged into email.  It might be an idea to conduct some tests to see if anything chat-related works on that computer.

No problems at all with our pcs.  never did get help from "support".  By changing to business for 3 times the price, all problems went away with work chat and sharing.  Of course that was after we went thru all the problems of converting.  Piece of advice for anyone converting, backup your data directory before converting!

  4. Very sorry this has been a source of frustration for you.

Based on what you're saying, it sounds like you might be missing the toggle that switches you from 'Crop Mode' to 'Resize Mode' in the top left of the window.

I made a quick walkthrough of the steps for resizing an image once you've got your desired file open in the annotation window.

Please let me know if this doesn't clear things up for you:

When will this be available on windows?

  5. Sorry for the delay in responding here,  but as a Business subscriber you should be able to raise support tickets and use Chat if necessary to talk through issues.  The bad news - it's a major holiday season,  and Support are available on normal working days,  PST.

If you haven't already done so,  I suggest you start a support request here - https://evernote.com/contact/support/

Meantime it's virtually impossible to say exactly why the conversion was such an issue and why your machines have different numbers of notes.  Something clearly went very wrong and you really need one to one support to unscramble it..

Thanks for the reply.  I did a support.  It took exactly the same time from the 17th to the 23rd to get a reply from them.  Wow what really great support.  We finally decided since we could get no help from support, to just manually go through all the notes to solve the issue of the double notes.

Totally agree with you. I hate it when new ideas are forced on you rather than made optional. I will never use work chat. Hate the concept. Hate the name. Evernote is for me, for my private notes and information. I don't want to share anything. Get your own bloody notes. Maybe it is time they should split Personal and Business into two separate products.

These days I'm using OneNote more and Evernote less, especially since Microsoft got its act together and put out pretty decent OneNote apps for iOS and Android. Evernote needs to raise its game, especially with the tired editor. I've been waiting years for page colours, macros, templates - all of which are possible with ON. In short, I'm running out of reasons to stick with Evernote.

I have other far more pressing things that will ruin my day. I just ignore the button and the feature and move on.

After all, it doesn't occupy additional computer resources and it doesn't do anything unless you tell it to, so, no impact to the system or my workflow (except for a the pixels devoted to displaying the button in the vexingly non-configurable toolbar).

It completely changed the way notes are shared is what it did.  Has had a major impact on our business, so in fact it does matter.

All of the old ways of sharing notes still exist.

You can email notes to anyone (Note>more sharing>email note) (on iOS select the three dots>share>email, which is where it has always been)

You can make notes public (cmd-/)

you can make notebooks public (right click>publish notebook)

The only time you need to use work chat is to invite a fellow evernote user to collaborate on a notebook. In this case, I don't see what harm is being done because the recipient must be an Evernote user by definition (and this has always been the case, even before work chat).

Perhaps I have missed something. Where are you finding you are unable to share things the way you used to?

When I try to share a note via email from a shared note, the send via email is grayed out.   This is how we shared an update in a note before.  Work chat also does not work from these notes.

We had multiple premium accounts.  A notebook is shared from account A.  In the past account B could work on the note, then update our ordering person with an email share.  Now the email is greyed out on Account B.  This work chat really messed up our workflow, and made our lives miserable.  We are now attempting business because it is easier to share a notebook.  We do not need work chat to share anything.

  7. We just recently changed from premium to business. I thought this was going to be an improvement. We were having problems with premium as to shared notebooks tags those type of things. We began to have problems when trying to convert personal notebooks to business. After uninstalling and reinstalling Evernote some of the problems went away. We had to do this many times. We finally got three notebooks converted, but when we went to do the fourth we began to have major problem. We lost 1300 notes.

Fortunately though, I had backed up the Evernote data directory, at least that's what I thought it was fortunate. When I copied it into the Evernote directory and open up Evernote things really went crazy. I now had 700 extra notes, and 1300 of them were in the trash. Now using the same account on two computers one computer has 1700 notes the other has 2200 notes.

Email support has been very slow and has not helped.

Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening?

  9. The new work chat really is messed up.  We have three premium accounts.  Main account shares several notebooks.  The other two accounts with which these notebooks are shared can NOT work chat any notes in those notebooks.  Also the send via email is grayed out on those notebooks.  As usual, support has been very slow and no help at all.  Want to guess what they suggested?

    1. Reinstall Evernote - their answer to everything, very seldom fixes anything.

    2. Re-share notebooks - thier second answer to everything, seldom fixes anything.

Neither 1 or 2 had any affect on the two accounts.

We have committed to using evernote in our business, but are beginning to look at ONeNote just because of problems like this.  Seems almost every time a new version of evernote comes out, some things are fixed but others are broken.

We would have MUCH rather had very good tables rather than a worthless chat feature.

    Just my 2 cents worth.
