Did you ever figure out a workaround to this? I've rolled back to 5.x until they fix this.

I know a lot is flooding in here, but, this one changes the workflow of Evernote, so I want to mention it.

If you right click on the Evernote icon on the taskbar and select "New Note," that new note's notebook used to default to your "default notebook" ---- but now they are going into the "currently in use" notebook. Any chance this can go back to the way it was? To me, the way it was made more sense as if you are working outside of Evernote and want to remember something, you could use "New Note" from the Windows Environment (or the related hot key) to make a note in your "inbox" to address later. (Go #GTD!)

  I opened a support ticket on this, and, had a few back and forths. Supposedly it got sent "up the ladder" for review and hopefully a fix.
  
  I know - a big pain, isn't it!
  
  I'm staying on 6.x, but, yeah - extra mental energy to remember "where the heck am I saving that note."
