None of my IFTTT apps to Evernote are working.
dvgibson replied to dvgibson's topic in Evernote Integrations
A new ZAP? Sorry, not familiar with that term. But yes, I did create a new app, simple one to enter notes on the fly. and same behavior, no data entry, never runs. -
None of my IFTTT apps to Evernote are working.
dvgibson replied to dvgibson's topic in Evernote Integrations
Boy, none that I can discover. I have narrowed it down to any app that takes input. It opens a screen but no data entry field and pressing the evernote button causes it to dim, but does not "enter". I am thinking it is the phone os which was android 10 until yesterday and now the phone is a replacement still on android 9. So a fresh install of the service on a new phone did not resolve the problem as you might hope. This problem started well before the poor phone got fried. DO buttons do work. And yes, they all worked quite fine since as early as 2015. -
I have a number of them and they have been working for years. And they all say connected but when I run them on my android phone nothing happens. Ones that let me make notes open a screen but no way to make an entry, and pressing the Evernote button does nothing. I have looked everywhere to find something I need to reauthorize or what not but nothing. Where do I find the place to connect IFTTT to my Evernote account?

Snap to Shape in Ink?

Thank you, DTLow, that is a feature description, similar to the hover over help. That how I found out there is a feature Snap to Shape. But nothing about how to make use of it. -
Snap to Shape in Ink?
dvgibson replied to dvgibson's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Evernote Windows has a Ink note type that you can do handwritting and drawings using a laptop or tablet that supports a pen or stylus input. One opt is to make regular shapes (I guess) like circles and rectangles. But nothing in help on it and I cannot get it to do any thing. Ink could be a very useful thing with a bit of work . -
"Ink Note" ability to pick background.

I would use this all the time! I have grid pads everywhere I work to make quick drawings of solutions. -
Still not able to print
dvgibson replied to dvgibson's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Thanks gazumped, I am testing more. Reinstalled Adobe Acrobat, seems trying Foxit might have knocked it out. I did not realize that the pdf viewer, which ever, was adjusting the size of the page, be it PDF for just text to fit a page. So If I set the margins to 1" I get 1.3" both sides, setting them to 0.7" I get 1" both sides. So not quite perfect. But better than I first thought. Note to Self: Always restart, reboot. Frequently. Even your phone. -
I installed 6.17 on one computer to see how it is going and dismayed that printing is not usable. Evernote did have a reasonable print and print preview utility that I could set margins and check to see if I needed to edit down to reduce wasted pages. So now even though they have Page Layout, it does nothing, Print prints without margins, and now you are forced to use that Foxit program to preview and it does not give any options to set margins. Foxit is nasty, installs all sorts of malware (as far as I am concerned) and wants to get lots of money for us. Evernote? Is this the end of pri

Print Preview gone!
dvgibson replied to dvgibson's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Dave, I can go along with that, if I can set margins. I tried but no success. The page setup in Evernote does not translate to the PDF. One piece of what I do with Evernote (just one of many!) involves keeping some printed notebooks up to date and they need margins. Yep, someone could access them online, but that means they need another laptop or tablet to keep some written instructions that they might need to scribble on while they are busy following the instructions and looking stuff up on their laptop. -
Print Preview gone!
dvgibson replied to dvgibson's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Well Dave, I don't need much of an editor. I need a place to store everything and then find it, and have it accessible from anywhere and any computer. And when I print documents is doesn't take much. If I need to get fancy I go to Google or Word. I see now reason why they should have broken print preview, or a lot of other things either. -
Print Preview gone!
dvgibson replied to dvgibson's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
Thanks, jafito, for confirming what I saw. A lot of what I do with Evernote is pretty up documents to be printed, most of the time just one page. I have reverted back to 6.7.6 until I hear good news. -
Print Preview gone!
dvgibson replied to dvgibson's topic in Evernote for Windows Issues (Versions 6.25.1 and under)
I am using the released version 6.16. Sure I can see Print Preview on the menu just like you. Have you clicked on it to see what it does? -
I have avoided upgrading for a while because of so many things get broken in each new version. Yesterday I dared to go to 6.16.4.8094. Thought it was OK until I went to print a Note. I have always used Print Preview to make adjustments and check the number of pages being printed. Its nothing but a pdf in an Adobe! And no way to set margins anymore, the default seems to be about a half inch. Page Setup is now completely useless. Has no effect on printing. HELP! I would like to stick with the new version, I really like having two databases open a the same time, but this another bug I have found

I trusted them and upgraded to the current version yesterday on several machines. Now when I create a new note in a Notebook it switches the view to All Notes. Using a short cut creates a new note in the default notebook not the current one. This can't be right, can it? I can't use this, will have to switch back to an older version.

I just set up a new desktop, Windows 10, i7, 32 GB and have have Evernote 6.5.4 installed. I found too many feature failures in 6.10 and backed it out. But typing really sucks! The whole purpose of this thing is to be able to make notes. I have not seen anyone from Evernote reply to this. Do they acknowledge the problem?
-
I reported the same problem as well when it arrived in the last version. I have to deal with it every day. When at the bottom of the screen and you hit return to go to a new thought the window does not scroll. Just to see where I am I type space, it scrolls, then I delete and go back to typing. (Notice: This is very basic behaviour. Even this entry window scrolls with CR.

You have to tell us how to roll this failed update back! Like others I regret I acted so hastily. I create many notes all day long and this is a huge failure.

I hate, hate, hate auto title! It is not the way that I write nor do most other people. Everything gets a title, even in newspapers, magazines, web sites, blogs that gives you an idea of what is inside the document. It is not the first umpteen words in the document. I have learned ways to work around it but they slow me down and sometimes I get caught and it blows away the title I created. And it is very slow on a slow machine and I have to wait on it to do something I do not want. Yep, that could be called a bug but no need to fix it. Just give us a flag to turn it off. It already exists, at

Allow searches of special characters and stop words
dvgibson replied to Bobokie9999's question in General Feature Requests
I agree guymanstuff, I have faith they will fix this. Heck, all you have to do is go out and buy a search engine package, or license it. They raised our annual fee enough to do that. They sell themselves on being a place to store all you stuff and yet fail on retrieval. I still embed special characters in my text in hopes that someday I can search on them like tags. But still I want to be able to write without having to make up underscore phrases. Tell me, how can I look up the day I installed the AC's last year? "AC" and "ac" is everywhere. But "AC's" is unique. -
Allow searches of special characters and stop words
dvgibson replied to Bobokie9999's question in General Feature Requests
Search is why we use Evernote. Evernote only becomes valuable once you have collected enough notes to need searching. The lack of differentiation of upper and lower case, and simple special characters such as @, #, %, &, and * is a serious limitation. Please, please consider correcting this.
