I have looked at other discussions on this and it appears the option to set an attachment view default has been taken away. Leave it to EN to give us things we never asked for, and take away things we've been using for years...

I uninstalled the desktop version, then switched to the old view online and back to the new. Not sure why, but that fixed it for me.
