  1. Ok, I can understand that. I do remember a change being made a while back. I like to keep up with the most current version, so guessing I just figured I had to deal with it for now (and it seems I archived that bit of memory about the way it used to work 🙂 ). Used to be on the beta channel, but moved back to general release when started keeping critical business information in Evernote.
  2. Hi, maybe I'm misunderstanding. Seems there was a change to pdf's a while back - IIRC you could just double click on a pdf within a note and it would open it in your default pdf app. But, the way I open a pdf in Acrobat (or any other pdf app) is to right click on the PDF, then select Open With from the shortcut menu. Then choose Adobe Acrobat (in my case). Make sure to save the pdf when making any changes and the updated pdf gets saved back to the pdf in Evernote. If I'm misunderstanding, sry and let me know what you mean by not working properly with pdf files.
  3. I had the same issue, but posted in another thread. Newest version out tonight (v8 5.2) solved the issue for me.
  4. I did receive a reply. They say they realize it is a bug and are working on it. . . . . . Actually a new version just showed up in the Play Store. Installed it and the problem is fixed for me ? .
  5. Same issue for me on Android 8.0.0. Annotate doesn't come up for pictures but does work for pdf's. I submitted a ticket as well. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.
  6. I'm a heavy user of Evernote and have been a member since 2008. I'm a bit of an evangelist with my friends, etc. when it comes to this product, so am obviously not unbiased. I too am a bit concerned about the changeover of the CEO and don't have the insight into the company #'s to know if they will be able to make it work as a billion dollar company. One concern I have continued to have is the talk of going public. I understand they need / want to do this to get $$$ back to the investors and to continue to grow. But am concerned how it will affect the product and their stated goal of building a trusted 100 year company. I had found that stated goal to be very refreshing and have trusted them up to this point. We'll see what the future holds. If things do go bad, I'm going to be in a fair quandary trying to move to something different. From a functionality standpoint, I do disagree with this article. I have always tried new products that have come out in this space and always find them lacking when compared to Evernote. Sure you can pick and choose features and say there are better alternate solutions out there. But no product that I have seen brings all these features together so you can everything in one place (i.e. your 2nd brain) as well as Evernote. To compare Photoshop or Gimp to Skitch is not a fair comparison. Also to compare a file based service such as Dropbox to Evernote is not a fair comparison. I always read these articles that say there are better alternatives out there, but I've never come across one - and believe me I have looked. Just my 2 cents.
  7. I have to agree, as a Windows user the grey button color is not that great. I'm very used to seeing the green button. PLUS, if you use a dark theme for your Chrome browser, it makes the button just about invisible. This can be rather frustrating:
