Just wondering if there's any news on this... I am experiencing the same problem with version 10.8.5. It's completely unusable. I manage to make it about 10 words into a sentence before Evernote completely hangs up on me and I cannot keep up with taking notes in real-time during meetings.

This is similar to the "continuous release notes" bug that was claimed to be fixed in 10.6 but it seems that there are still bugs. Today a pop-up window came up on the screen saying something like "downloading a new version" and forced all my open windows to the background. I was in the middle of a Zwift race and had to hop off my bike and sprint to the laptop to bring the correct screen back up. This is super annoying. Please fix this properly! I am on Mac OS High Sierra and was using Evernote 10.6.9... now using 10.7.6 after the surprise update.
