There are ways to export. Some need a little preparation, but work in one go. Others can be done ad hoc, but need a little more activity.
This way or the other, from EN you can export everything in a format that will be imported by most other note apps. Choose wisely - there are a number of apps in the field that have build an importer - but somehow „haven’t found the time yet“ to build a sound exporter.
Thank you for the advice!
Actually just found out that you need an extra app to export from Apple Notes tested it and it is working.
So I will just see how it is working for me. if I am not satisfies I can still upgrade Evernote to Premium again.

All I can say ist you might want to learn what the difference between a guess and a forecast is.
What I did not foresee though was the fact that EN has an army of fanboys to respond to people like me. Still I was right as you do not care except for using my post as a prompt for showing how elite you are and how inferior I am.

Dear @Feitz as I said this relates to my usage, which is having a notes-app that will sync across al my devices which are all apple. I am using some linux as well but EN does not provide support for linux so it is not a difference.
What I need is a way to scan documents and store as pdf and that was added to notes recently. And tagging notes to find them easily. Scannable and Skitch were nice and did this long before IOS and MacOs could. So I exported everything from Evernote an import what I need into notes. By the way exporting from Evernote is a pain in the ass because it will not let you simply export everything.
Actually I have been looking for open source solutions as well, but at this moment I do not want to set up a server for this, but I might do it sometime.

I have been a user of Evernote for 14 years and been paying for like ten years.
2022 I paid 39.99€
2023 was raised to 57.99€
2024 I got a mail stating that the subscription would be continued for 57.99€
And two days later Apple wrote me a mail stating that the price has gone up to 107.77€
And I am not willing to pay this as my usage has not changed and I am not interested in paying for features I don't need. So I am moving on as I now find the features that I use for 10% of the cost. And probably get better support.

Yeah, I hate to say it but I just don't trust Evernote anymore. I've gone to start a number of notes in the way that I might have normally done in the past only to stop myself and turn to another solution that I trust more. The other solutions (including macOS Notes) aren't as feature rich (Notes is downright bare-bones and simplistic) but I trust them to sync reliably across all of my devices and not lose my work.
I haven't cancelled the subscription yet (I renew in May, I think) but I likely won't renew this year.
A real shame.

This is the same with me. I have been al long time pro user but I guess I willl not renew.

I am only using the legacy version on the Mac.
IOS seems to work.- 1

Not using Evernote for important notes because of this too. I do not consider the problem solved as long as nor way to retrieve the lost notes is shown. Currently I am nor opening a ticket as I am reading that others' tickets did not get an answer.
