For about the last week, I have seen very strange behavior in the smart filing setting for web clipper using Safari. The suggested folder is always the last folder I used. I have tried: -changing the setting to always use one folder, always use last folder, left it there awhile, then changed back to smart filing; -log out and log in -complete uninstall of web clipper, reinstall. Is there anything I can try to stop this behavior?

Thanks @PinkElephant, is there anyway to aid/expedite/restart the training process, or does it do it on its own and it just takes time?

Just to update - web clipper smart filing started working properly again about a week ago, but for the last week the folders suggested seem totally random - a complete waste. But it doesn't bother me, I just got my email that premium is going up almost 50% for me. Luckily I have time to start migrating off of this platform. If it worked reliably it would be different...

Isn't this amazing that it's gone so long without even a comment from Evernote, much less fixing it?

Safari 16.3 on Mac Ventura 13.2.1, Evernote clipper version 7.31.1.493 - 1.0.13 (493), event 10.54.4. All should be the latest versions. It always suggests the same folder. This started a few days ago.

Update: As of today, it's working fine. I went back and tried specific pages that failed yesterday too. Must have been a server-side issue.

It's any web site I can go to. Just highlighting an image and text fails today. Safari, Chrome, Edge. Windows, Mac. If I paste into Evernote web, it shows fine on the App. If I paste into the App and it fails, it is fine on the web Evernote. Just going to this Apple site and copying the 1 image and some text by selecting it, fails. There's nothing fancy going on, images are failing across the board in the app on Mac and Windows. If you go to this site for Apple news, go into Reading view on Safari (View/Show Reader), Cmd-A to select all, Cmd-C to copy, go to Evernote App, do Ctrl-N for new note, Ctrl-V to paste - the one image here also needs up being unable to load: https://www.macrumors.com/2022/09/08/iphone-14-pro-geekbench-score/ PS - I just tried NOT in reading mode, copying the picture and some text and pasting it, fails again. I also tried highlighting and copy the image and some text using Chrome on my Mac, and it also fails, so it's mot a Reading View or Safari issue. Also - if I paste into the web site Evernote, it shows up fine in Evernote app. But the ones that fail in the App, look fine on the web!

Thanks @PinkElephant, I am doubtful that will help. I went over to a Windows laptop, and installed the Evernote app from the Win Store - first time it was ever on that laptop. Then I tried pasting the same article, and it fails there too. And it's not just one article, it's anything I have tried today - JPG and PNG files.

Hi @gazumpedthanks for the reply. I normally use Web Clipper but some sites look awful when I try to capture an article. One site is The Athletic. Try this site, it requires a subscription for the whole article but I think you can see enough to copy it. When I paste them into a new note in Evernote app on Windows 11, they have a gray bar and say "Unable to render image in this format.". The same paste works fine on the web at evernote.com via Safari on Mac or Edge on Windows. It also fails on JPG files, and everything fails on the Mac app (I posted there as well). Please fix this!

Thanks @agsteele, they were on the web, and they do show up eventually. I uninstalled and reinstalled Evernote and Web Clipper, we’ll see if that helps.

Hi all, I Just discovered this tonight. I have two MacBook Pro laptops, on the latest 12.5 Monterey OS. Yet, they had two different versions of Evernote, both old, both not updating to the current version - it says in both cases "you are on the latest version". Here is where they were: Mac (Intel) - 7.14 (old!) Mac (ARM/Apple) - 10.40.9 I uninstalled with App Cleaner and installed 10.41.5 on both. I have a paid subscription to Evernote, Why do you think they would not update?

For the second time tonight, if I add something to Evernote via Safari/Mac's Web Clipper, it just doesn't sync and show up in the app's notes. I have to close the app, wait a couple of minutes then reopen it and it shows up. I had about 10 clips earlier today that weren't there from 5-6 hours ago, when I went to use them; the close/reopen caused the sync. Besides this problem, WHY OH WHY did Evernote take away the manual Sync button? Evernote can't make Sync reliable, why not give us the manual sync button back instead of some of the features that I sure will never use? Getting frustrated with the unreliability of Evernote. A focus on quality vs. new features is warranted.

More and more, Web sites I clip with Web Clipper, "Simplified Article", Safari browser, the images show only as attachment. Even if I select attachment, then go back to display image, it only displays as attachment. It does not happen with Chrome on Mac, just Safari. Anyone else seeing this?
