  1. I observe the same issue with Chrome browser today. Yesterday I thought it was all due to tech works and data migration. Today it takes nearly 5 mins ( I don't joke!) for a clipped page to show the Evernote dialogue to assign tags etc. In fact first time I did it today after 5 mins of waiting Evernote asked me to reload the page, then it showed the pop-up allowing me to assign tags. Right now  I am unable to clip anything straight away,

  2. The same issue on my side here too. I attach a screenshot along with the LOG file.

Currently I am unable to clip any bookmarks from Chrome browser to my Evernote app. The Evernote extension is of the latest version Evernote Web Clipper 7.33.1.

The problem has become noticeable even BEFORE the latest version 10.63.3 was installed.

The other issue I came across is that I couldn't log in to the forum to report the 1st issue. I was getting the following error message "429 Too Many Requests".

...Because like I said,  I've had 'no sync' days of my own,  and I wanted to point out that any opinions you get here - unless they come from someone with 'EMPLOYEE' in their profile - are just opinions.

Well, I don't have time for all that stuff to comment. Ideally, I'd imagine someone from the staff or forum moderators or more experienced users should have provided some rapid technical guidance on how to deal with the typical situation I've encountered in order to help to solve it fast (including what settings to check first? etc ).   Such synchronization issues must have been reported many times before, it is not new to both the support and local loiterers (forgive me my bad English to say that)

  4. Just in case someone else from Russia may pop in with the same issue to report or to search.

The problem is due to Yandex.DNS. They are the providers of the family filter service, that many routers in Russia have as a built-in option. Once the option is turned off in router's settings, Evernote starts working without a hitch again.

I've already reported the problem to our local idiots via dns@support.yandex.ru, you may join the effort to restore the order by sharing your own feedbacks too.

Well, Russia is under boycott. Furthermore the Russian government is implementing measures to block the free access from Russia to services and information outside of their control (read censorship).

I won’t start a discussion about the reasons here, but you may see a situation when every cloud service will only be accessible through a VPN. The same is probably true for payments.

Well, I don't seem to understand, so I ask again: Has Evernote blocked users from Russia today based on their IP or not?

  6. Hi all,

I've been using Evernote for perhaps 10 years or so. Today I've been experiencing some technical issues as my Windows Evernote app somehow refuses to synchronize my notes (see attached screenshot). So I am wondering if this is something temporary or the company has just started implementing any new discriminating rules for users in Russia based on their IP addresses (due to on-going conflict in Ukraine, for instance).

PS. Btw I had to use VPN in order to report the problem because the forum didn't let me in till I changed my IP address from Russia to UK.

Thanks in advance for your support.

I have flagged this thread already for an admin to take a look at when they're available.

The holidays are over, and yet it seems the admin is in no rush to chase the issue 🙂 Rolling the version back doesn't seem to be the option either.

I hope to catch up l8r when the admin starts hitting the right keys again. 'Coz I miss the way Evernote extension used to work very much.

  8. I am lucky to have the records of the version control history for my extensions since I started collecting such data not so long ago.

Attached is the screenshot that indicates that Evernote Web Clipper is in the list of short-listed extensions that have been subject to recent changes.

Since I have the rest of the list activated at this moment and this causes no trouble, I am certain to say that the problem is due to Evernote Webclipper.

  9. Hi there,

I've reported the problem on a few forums, including the following

    https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/765703/chrome-hangs-up/

    https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/282138-chrome-hangs-up-at-startup/

The problem actually appeared first time when I was clipping something from Chrome to Evernote on my Windows 10 station. My first thought was that the problem was due to Chrome itself because I couldn't re-launch it after that. But when I finally re-launched Chrome (by using  --disable-extensions startup parameters) I did restore settings in Chrome with clean setup, I later discovered that the problem of Chrome freeze re-appears as soon as I sign in to my Evernote account.  This is very suprising behaviour. I ain't sure what could have possibly trigerred such problem to arise. But the bottom point is that at this moment I am unable to use Evernote extensions in Chrome.

I run the latest version 96.0.4664.110 (Official Build) (64-bit) of Chrome on my Windows 10 21H2 (build 19044.1415) station along with desktop Evernote Legacy version 6.25.2.9198 (309198) Public (CE Build ce-62.6.10954).

Any ideas what could have caused the problem and how to resolve it?

    Thanks in advance.
