This is probably not the right place to ask this question, but... has the article about Evernote's system limitations been removed?
https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005247-Evernote-system-limits

On mobile (mostly iOS, but Android was not immune) I was often plagued by this bug: even with "edit protection" enabled, clicking on a PDF to open it would switch the note to edit mode and change the update date, messing up the order of my notes. I contacted the support: they confirmed the bug but no timeline was given (as usual).
Well... it seems like it's gone now!
Has anyone noticed this before, and the improvement since last update? Or is it mine just wishful thinking?

Thanks a lot! It was really frustrating...
Weird workaround, but it works.

I've been experiencing weirdness with Gmail in general the last couple of days. And this morning the clipper is no longer offering "Gmail" as an option, even through the web clipper hasn't been updated since March 4th (so likely due to a change on the Gmail side, or perhaps in Chrome). There's a Chrome update downloading now and I will test further after it installs.
The "Gmail" option disappeared for me as well. On latest version of Chrome (just updated at the time of writing). 😓

So, the good news is that WebClipper (Chrome version) started working with Gmail again!
However, right after clipping an email (which is successfully clipped into Evernote), the gmail website disconnects and I have to reload the whole page to get it to work again. It seems to happen 100% of the time, on two different MacOS machines (updated to the latest version of the OS) on Chrome.
Anyone experiencing the same problem?

Eventually, I found out that using snippets instead of side list (an old favorite of mine) eliminated the annoying "note title balloons". 🥳

Tried the new version; still, the suggestions are worse than they were until a few weeks ago (unfortunately, I can't pinpoint exactly when they stopped working). As a workaround, when I'm searching for a notebook, I use the "Open Notebooks" shortcut and I'm automatically in the search box.

Working for me OK now but it wasn't in an earlier version. You don't even say which platform you are using but I would check you are on the latest version. I am on:
10.71.2-win-ddl-public (20240109093604)
Editor: v176.50.1
Service: v1.87.1
© 2019 - 2024 Evernote Corporation. All rights reservedI completely agree. Lots of little annoyances in search at the moment which should be fairly simple to sort.
Thanks for your reply, and sorry for the incomplete info: I'm on 10.70.2 (I haven't got yet the offer to upgrade to 10.71.2), on MacOS Sonoma.

Hi there!
I've noticed that at some point in the past few weeks, the "search suggestions" have been greatly reduced or have completely disappeared. By "search suggestion" I mean when you start typing something in the search box and a list of possible completions appears below it. I've used them a lot to find notebooks or tags: just type in the first few letters and they would appear at the bottom of the search box, allowing me to do a quick filtered search.
Now instead, even if I type in the full, exact notebook title or tag (I did this as an experiment, though of course it defeats the purpose), no suggested filtered search appears.
IMHO, before experimenting with AI search, I'd make conventional search great again: let's not forget that super-powerful search is what made Evernote popular in the first place.

Let's see -- UI redesigns are rarely "average": either they're great, or they turn out to be disasters...
Fingers crossed!

@agsteele Thanks so much for your reply!
New UI? Interesting... Did't hear about that before!

I'm a paying user, but I often share notebooks with free accounts. I have to wait and see what will be the new behavior for sharing... It's a bumpy ride with EN lately, innit?

Options are: check in Settings - the Gmail extension can clip attachments; or forward these emails to your account email address. And contact Support as suggested above.
It's true! It does! Though I'm positive it didn't save attachments before I switched on the "Show messages in thread" option.
Very slow... but it works! Thanks a bunch Gazumped!

This is a terrible blow to my workflow. The Evernote Gmail extension is a workaround, but it doesn't clip attachments. I confess that as much as I love(d?) Evernote, I only renewed this time because they offered me a 50% discount, otherwise...

there's definitely a problem with syncing

I know it's rolling at different stages, but... I'm still on 10.61.5 (MacOS)!! Have been checking daily for updates (in fact, multiple times a day) but no sign of them.
Are you guys on some sort of beta testing program perhaps?

Thank you very much for the feedback! 💚
So, it's definitely something that has to do with my mac box... Good to know that!!

Hi all,
while I can insert emojis in the body of the note, for example, 👀 as ":eyes:", I cannot do the same in titles. In fact, not even the native MacOS emojis keyboard would work.
(I'm on MacOS 13.5.1 and Evernote 10.61.5)
Is it just me? Thanks!

No problem but it may be the solution to the issue you face 😉 I'm sure you are aware that there are a number of functions that don't work in the store versions. If you can live without them then you are good to go via the store.
As an example, on MacOS the AppStore version forgets the import folder every time it's relaunched. The dmg version keeps it working as expected.

Select the notes - from the right click menu choose the „copy internal links“ - pick app links.
Go to the note where you want the TOC to show - insert (ctrl/cmd - V). Done - you can now use formatting like numbering or bullets, or even make a checklist out of the links.
The feature got a massive boost by the adding of backlinks. When you go from the TOC to a note, and want to go back, top right a symbol holds the links back to all linked notes. After inserting the link, it may take a little until the backlink shows.
If a note is linked to 4 different notes, you will have 4 backlinks, and can go to any of them just by clicking on the backlink from the little list.
I think this is a significant improvement over the one-directional linking in legacy. It supports strategies like Zettelkasten.
That's fantastic!! Thanks a bunch!! How silly of me not trying the "copy internal links" with multiple notes selected at once.
I agree: backlinks are absolutely great, and were missing in the legacy version.
OK, I think that this settles it and, as far as I'm concerned, I officially declare that now I've nothing to whine anymore about the new Evernote. (Until the next whining, I mean... 😇)

Forgive the intrusion. Since it seems we're here discussing missing features and a lot of precious knowledge has emerged, here is my problem, hoping I'll find some good advice.
Back in the days, on the legacy version, I was relying a lot on the "Build content list" (or something like that, I'm afraid I don't remember the exact menu item) function, where you would select a bunch of notes and a "summary" note, will links to all the notes you first selected, would be produced.
Is there anything like that now?
-
Why all this pessimism about the take-over by Bending Spoons? I mean: it's difficult to make Evernote worse than it is now... And since they invested some pretty penny to buy Evernote, I see it's in their interests to make it shine again.

This is extremely frustrating -- and I've had many frustrating moments with Evernote over the past 15 years, but this is definitely one of the worst. I just hope it gets better soon.

What are Notebook Stacks for?
in Evernote General Discussions
Posted
Thanks for chiming in. I meant the limits of the system, like maximum number of tags, maximum number of notebooks, maximum number of notebooks in a stack, etc.
