  1. i ask again - who actually wants the separation of Personal and Business notes? i just don't understand why these need to be separated. and in fact, they are still linked because when i forward emails to EN, it goes to my personal account and i have to move all of those to the Business account. the MOVE NOTE function is way slower now that i have to actually click on my business notes (bottom left of move dialogue), so i can't just quickly use the keyboard shortcuts. if it HAS to be like this, is it possible to have 2 "main views" open at the same time? one with personal and another with business? then i can at least have the note lists side by side and move things? i also echo the problem of Tabs disappearing when switching between the 2 accounts. this separation of Personal and Business is really slowing down my workflow. i see that you have different Default Notebooks in Preferences, depending on which account you're in - this helps a bit with scanning files directly to Business. but you have to make Personal and Business truly separate for this to work. again, they are still linked at some levels.
  2. perhaps his comments function as Beta Feedback then...? first i want to say - excellent job with the TABS and TABLES! you guys are great with things that start with "T-A-B" but moving on... i too just do not understand the complete separation of Personal and Business notes when your business account's FOUNDATION is your personal account! i think that's the element that the EN team may be missing from those of us who don't like the separation. let's say i use a Scanner that auto adds it to EN - my PERSONAL inbox notebook is my default notebook, because usually that's what i use. but now i've scanned some Business documents. am i supposed to open that note in the new interface, then cut/paste into a new note in my Business account? or was i supposed to change my default folder just for the duration that i'm scanning business documents? again, fully separating Personal and Business would be fine.... if EN itself didn't combine Personal and Business at its core. this scanning example is just one situation. i too work out of both Personal and Business accounts back and forth throughout the day, many times simultaneously. i guess i can see "Enterprise" level accounts wanting the full separation. but don't you create a Personal account first to sign up and be added to someone's business? MAYBE a solution to this would be to have the new TABS allow Personal and Business tabs mixed. i initially thought that was possible when i first opened this Beta. but no. the whole thing switches. having to fully open a Note just to copy/paste things - rather than just moving to different notebooks - is kind of a poor implementation, you have to admit. there WAS a function to move notes, but now it has been removed. i absolutely cannot stand the separation of P vs B on iOS either - again, because my default Notebook is my Personal, i'll scan or pop things in there on my computer, then when i go out, i have to search to figure out where things are, rather than just looking at all my notes together. i could go on. EN accounts are founded upon a Personal account. Business accounts are linked with a Personal account. to then force the separation of the two is just not logical. this exactly! i absolutely agree that it's a "showstopper" to separate the 2 accounts, and as i mentioned, i abhor working on iOS because of it. a previous Mac beta separated them, i hated it, then we got the accounts back together - it's great! and now it's separated again can the EN team shed some light on who exactly is requesting the separation?
  3. using the Beta for a while now, i really do not like the separation of the Personal and Business accounts. it's made its way officially to the iOS app, so I'm guessing that's just the roadmap for Desktop. but it just feels very clunky to me, and i'm trying to approach it as if i don't have knowledge of how it used to work. moving notes from Personal to Business is just a chore, as described earlier in this thread. too many steps, rather than a simple drag and drop. the only reason i could see this as a good step is if we will be allowed to use SEVERAL different accounts and switch between them - but we sort of had that with the different account login in previous versions. i personally think the separation of Personal and Business notes in the sidebar was enough in the previous versions, allowing me to access both and freely interchange notes/files as needed. if there's a security concern due to being able to access both Business and Personal files at the same time, then the Business should just require a separate business account that isn't linked to the person's personal Evernote. regardless, splitting up the 2 as this beta has done doesn't seem to solve any security issues anyway. speaking of being more difficult to change accounts, the iOS version is even MORE tedious now, as sometimes i need to flip between personal and business constantly for some sort of task. it takes much longer to do this with the new version. please consider going back to how it was for accessing Personal vs Business. this is not better.
  4. the process for installing this type of Mac app is to drag it to your Applications folder, since it is an app. you don't want to leave it in your Downloads. this goes for any App that appears as a "icon" in your folder, rather than an installer that goes through a process and several screens. it's not just an Evernote thing.
