  1. Hi, thanks for responding. The green highlighting looks like your second, @gazumped example. I'm not talking about the text color, which always turns from black to blue once a link becomes a hyperlink. It sure is screwy because I never do any highlighting in Evernote, and it started happening by itself but not consistently. While it's not something that seriously affects my experience with this app, any extra click reduces the smooth flow and efficiency of working with it.
  2. This happens exclusively with photo links, but it doesn't occur all the time. I copy a Web photo address and paste it into a note containing other pasted photo links. Sometimes the link hyperlinks automatically and turns blue, but most of the time, I have to click the space bar to make the address hyperlink. But, in a lot of cases, after I hit the space bar, the link becomes highlighted in green. If I click the space bar again or mouse-click the link, it will delete, so i have to mouse-click in an empty space away from the link for the highlighting to disappear and for the link to hyperlink. This started happening 1-2 years ago. What causes this, and is there a way to avoid it?
  3. Well, I didn't include a screen shot; it was another person with the same question. At any rate, I'm talking about the web app, which I misidentified as Evernote for Windows. I have the latest update of Evernote for Windows sitting on my hard drive, but when I try to open it, it keeps endlessly syncing and freezes up. That's why I had to switch to the web app. One of the gurus told me that this may be due to the fact that I have a Sony Vaio computer and since Sony stopped making computers a few years ago, their contract for Evernote for Vaio may have run out. It's all very confusing. I don't understand why Evernote for Windows (not for Vaio) wouldn't work on my Windows 7 architecture. So, getting back to my original question, does anyone know whether hover links can be disabled on the web app since they are a pain?
  4. I'm talking about disabling hover links in Evernote for Windows (desktop). My Evernote for Vaio (what you may refer to as the "old version") stopped responding, so I had to switch to the other one, which is incredibly clunky and user-unfriendly compared to what I had before.
  5. I don't have the answer, but I'm interested in the same topic. Nobody seems to be interested in answering this, or maybe, the silence means "no".
  6. Thanks, Ed. I do understand now that Sony getting out of the computer business may have caused this. That's the way the cookie crumbles.
  7. Thanks, guys, for responding quickly. My online conditions haven't changed one bit. Everything else on my computer works A-OK. As I mentioned in my previous post, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Vaio EN without losing data and somehow stumbled onto EN for Windows, remembering that option from before. I'm using it now, but it seems clunkier than the Vaio version, i.e., it often requires more clicks to perform certain functions. That's why I liked EN for Vaio better and wanted to get it back.
  8. I have the latest version of Evernote for Vaio on Win 7. It had been working fine for a couple of years ever since I joined in until a couple of days ago, when a green refresh circle would appear whenever I tried to initiate a new action, and it woudn't go away. If I closed the app and got back in, the same thing happened. I uninstalled and reinstalled - no success. Please help.
  9. Hey, thanks a lot for responding quickly. A few minutes after I posted my plea for help, I figured out the solution myself, which is much simpler. When you press the Sort button in a particular folder, it gives you just a couple of options, non of which are a-z. However, what escaped my attention was that if you hover over that button, it will give you a whole bunch of other note sorting options. One of them is by Title, which is actually a-z. That was a huge sigh of relief. I'm not sure what caused the scrambling, but I believe it happened when I expunged 80 notes from Trash in multiples of five. The system may've burped as a result of such an operation. Best - biglarry5
  10. All of a sudden, all my old notes are scrambled, non-alphabetized, and some are bleeding from one folder to another. If I create a new test note in a folder (eg., aardvaark), it seems to slot at its right place at the top of the notes list. The entire purpose of Evernote is lost if that auto-sorting is not functioning for the already created notes. I've tried to log out of Evernote and my computer and log back in to no avail. Please help.
