I'm having this exact same issue with Evernote 10.33.4-mac-ddl-public (3285) on a M1 MBP running macOS 12.2. It's very annoying as I am a longtime Premium user and have many years' worth of scanned PDFs in there and depend on Evernote as filing system for my personal and professional life. Since this affects multiple users, is there an open issue that Evernote is actively addressing?
