  1. Thanks, I suspected that was the case. The scanner itself works fine with the Scan Snap Home software. The best way that I have found is to scan with that, then use Open with Evernote on each scanned document, then delete it from Scan Snap. A few more steps but not too onerous. Would really be nice though if Evernote/Fujitsu would updateh Evernote edition software.
  2. I have had a Scansnap s1300i successfully connected to my old 2009 iMac using the Scansnap Evernote edition software. Everything works beautifully. I now attempted to connect the scanner to my 2015 Macbook running Mojave (10.14.5). I can scan successfully using the Scansnap home software, but all attempts to use the Evernote edition fails. It will install, but on opening the scanner the blue light just continuously blinks. Starting the software from the Macbook does nothing. I can use it with Evernote and the default Scansnap home software, but each scan is now several steps, whereas before all worked so well in one step. Does anyone have a solution?
  3. No sooner had I entered this than I thought of a better way of achieving my objective, using the features of Preview (edit the original and drag the new pages in place), but this does not invalidate the general request. If Evernote supplies a merge operation then it should supply an unmerge. Perhaps with the option of automatically tagging each unmerged note so that they can be located easily.
  4. A long while ago I merged three notes into one (and have since emptied the trash, losing the originals). I now need to replace one of the merged PDF's with a different one, but I do not see any to do this other than a cumbersome one of opening every note in Preview, saving it, deleting the merged note and recreating with the new PDF. I am surprised that I do not see this request in already - am I missing something? I am on a Mac, but this would be useful on windows also. Tim
  5. I retract my last statement. I could annotate a PDF and save it on my MacBook, but bot delete page with Preview. I did install the free PDF Reader which did delete the page in place.
  6. Just to add another wrinkle to this issue. The problem with Preview and annotations occurs on my late 2009 iMac, but not on my early 2015 Macbook - both running Sierra. It smells of directory permissions. Thanks for the suggestions regarding Skim and Skitch - but I do have Skitch installed as a separate app on the iMac (where it does not work), but not on the MacBook (where it does). Will try Skim
  7. Just to add a "Me To" to this issue. I am pleased that it is not just me - but it is annoying. The ability to use Preview to edit in place was very useful and I really miss it.
  8. I often add notes that have value for only a few days duration. It would be good to be able to set a date, after which it is moved to trash.
  9. Thanks - I have downloaded this app.
  10. I know (and use) that you can encrypt text, but would like to encrypt a photo - or an entire note. I did attempt to search for this suggestion - found an upvoted to encrypt an entire note. I could not see any way to search only within this forum. I do know that I could use some external app to encrypt a PDF, but it is much more usable to be able to do all within Evernote.
  11. My Scansnap 1300 recently died. As it is indispensable I immediately bought a new one (the 1300 i) from Amazon. All is now the same as before except that the scanner software converts the PDF to searchable PDF, which did not occur before. This is OK, except that it takes a bit of time and I generally have a lot of scanning to do. If I turn off the 'Convert to searchable PDF' option will the conversion occur on the Evernote servers? The PDFs that I scanned on the old scansnap all ended up as searchable, without this local step. - Tim
  12. We just had a major update to the Mac client, but 5.5.2 still has the bug that a copy and paste of a link, entirely within the Evernote client is still defaulting to https:// instead of evernote:// - it took a while to find the 'classic' work around.
