Whenever I download a "latest" exe file (and that really is a peculiar and aggravating thing to name it IMHO), I check the file's properties, and in the Details tab is the proper version number. Then I rename the file to include that number. I keep a few installers around in case an update introduces a drastic problem.

@shlifs, I agree that having all the release notes collapsed under their numbers like that is a problem. I sometimes want to know when a particular feature or fix was introduced.

I also do this — I always download and save the installation file and make sure to rename it to include the relevant version number.

I'm currently actually trying to avoid installing the latest version. I've been using the legacy app on Windows ever since the big Evernote redesign, which messed up my notes — mainly because of the lack for right-to-left (RTL) text. I had several conversations with Evernote support about this over the years, and specifically after the redesign — which made it impossible for me to upgrade on my desktop or use the web and mobile apps for RTL notes. Many others have complained about this as well. But it has been years and Evernote has done nothing to fix this (it has only gotten worse), and now they're discontinuing the legacy Windows desktop app. And they also increased their prices when I'm not even making use of most of the Premium features because of the issues that I mentioned.

I'm in the process of migrating away from Evernote (way too late). I was looking for the release notes just for the off chance that Evernote fixed my issues; (they didn't). But it only led to more frustration because of the issues discussed in this post and the fact that it has bee several days since I posted this and no one from Evernote has even bothered to respond.

  2. 1. No product release notes: When selecting the "HELP CENTER" > "Release notes" link from the web client side menu (v10.81.5, Windows 10, Google Chrome), a pop-up window with "Release notes" and "About" tabs is displayed, but both tabs are empty.
When selecting the release notes link on the Evernote "Help & Learning" home page (https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us) it links to the URL https://help.evernote.com/hc/articles/360058361833, which displays a "The page you were looking for doesn't exist" error message.
The old release-notes URL that I have saved - https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058361833-Evernote-release-notes - also produces the same error.
I attached screenshots. I didn't find another way to view the Evernote release notes.

    2.  Bad troubleshooting link: The "Support" > "Troubleshooting" link in the footer of the "Help & Learning" home page links to https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/categories/200001917-Troubleshooting, which displays the "Account & Billing" section of the help center instead of a troubleshooting section.
