  1. Hi agsteele

There are various ways to achieve this. It's possible to compare a note with similar notes (which EN already does in their web search extension) and suggest the tags accordingly from those similar notes. It's also possible to find keywords in the note text, which is also a rather common practice. One might also search for keywords based on the existing tags.

While this might not necessarily be perfect, it would clearly improve and speed up the process of tagging, imho, and provide much benefit.

  2. Tags are very useful, but it's often difficult to find the good ones in a short moment.

Evernote could suggest suitable tags, in particular existing ones, but also new ones, while editing a note. That would improve the retrieval of notes significantly.

So - not a fan of tagging the notes or installing Legacy?  If you're a subscriber you could raise this with Support,  but it's unlikely to get fixed anytime soon...

How would tagging help? Search results from searching for tags has the same limitation (50 notes).

If it's a policy on the server side the legacy app would not help, either (but that may not be true, or couse. Didn't try.)

    Thanks for your help!

  4. I'm really happy that tasks are finally coming to Evernote.

However, I wonder about the way they are implemented now. In the past, at some point, reminders were introduced for notes. Unfortunately, they are still a half-finished feature. Why not finish that approach and create tasks as notes with due dates, reminders and all the features that tasks now get? It would be a cleaner solution to just define tasks this way, imho. Lists of tasks could still be created as TOCs of task notes. Note reminders are now still a half-baked thing living alongside the new tasks. Isn't that weird?

I do not agree with this assessment. I think EN is getting better and I’m happy with the progress so far. As said above bugs will happen and anyone who uses software understands that. Tasks is still of great value to me. I’m excited about the current and future direction of EN. No I don’t work for them. Haha. If you don’t agree simply use a different app.

Agree that Evernote, finally, is getting better, again, and catching up with the competition. There is improvement in stability, performance and features, lately. I'm getting more and more happy, again.

    Agreed
However I'm still storing due date using the reminder feature
I'll switch when due date is added to the search grammar

Indeed, there are more features missing from the search grammar.

It's nice to set a reminder automatically to occur at (or before) the due date. And then you can add more reminders for working on a task.

  7. I cannot stress enough how important his feature would be. It's so obvious and still missing.

In my case, writing on paper, photographing the note and having it recognise the handwritten text is marvellous. But, without being able to copy and paste the converted text, it doesn't make much sense. Searching is fine, but not enough!

Maps still exists on Android - check the three dots menu!

Yes, I know, but Atlas has disappeared from Windows! It was already not well implemented, because the used Open Street Map instead of Google Maps. But it's needed very much.

Also, the Android version of the map is very slow. They don't seem to use Google Maps in a good way (if at all).
