  1. Well, what I meant was that if AI makes a copy everytime it is invoked, over time, once ends up with tons of notes referencing that same things. I guess once AI copies a note, one could always decide to keep one or the other .. hence, lessening the overabundance of similar notes
  2. I think the thinking that it doesn't generate a new copy is that there would be way too many notes to sort through .. So, the way it is, you can copy a note to play with, or you can decide if you want to keep it or not.. UNDO. Anyway, it's eventually going to be an add on subscription service that many of us will simply choose not to purchase
  3. Well, one big piece of feedback, without even seeing it is that it MUST not tidy CODE. But, I think it has already been gone over and over that it will not do anything unless the feature is invoked on a note. I have lots of snippets and even detailed notes on technical stuff. I don't think anyone would want their technical notes or CODE that is saved for technical purposes 'cleaned up.' A recipe or meeting note is one thing, but SAVED technical details is quite another thing. Anyway, the feature will probably be a subscription based thing, so easy to opt out of that totally. GPT is quite cleaver and useful as a technical assistant, as long as I keep things very separate from what I am saving. I think all the panic about "AI Cleanup" is that it will do something without our permission & knowing, which has been covered already.
  4. Yes, I can't have it cleaning up things .. precise info that is 5 years old automatically. But, this thread has assured me there will be plenty of options to opt in or opt out, and that it will only "clean" things one note at a time if opt in.. EN team, please remember that some pieces of notes are encrypted. Thanks to everyone for their input. I fell much better.
  5. Rest assured that our AI features will be opt-in only, meaning your data won’t be processed by the AI model unless you explicitly direct Evernote to do so. And if you do decide to opt in, you’re still in control of your data, and we continue to keep your data safe, secure, and private by implementing the principles of privacy by design and by default. https://evernote.com/blog/evernote-pricing-upcoming-features-update/ I suppose it will be for content assistance. I have precise stuff in many notes, order details, numbers, etc.
  6. Perfect, perfect, Thank you, thank you for this info. I guess these will come a time down the road when we will all just have to accept Musk's quote "I just hope the computers are nice to us" when charlie Rose asked him what he thought the 3 biggest threats to humanity was. That was number 3, behind Nuclear threat and global warming ...
  7. And, thanks agsteele. Nice signature line there .. 'Submit a Support Request' I don't use the forums very much .. To my defense I did search several times for 'AI clean ..'
  8. I sure looked around the menus, even the My Requests page doesn't seem to have clear link or menu to Post a New Support Ticket. So, thanks for your link
  9. Long time user of EN, here .. Release Notes, 10.57.5 .. "This release contains important parts of the puzzle as we prepare to roll out the AI Note Cleanup feature. We hope you are as excited as we are about this powerful new feature." Seems incredibly difficult to submit a ticket, spent way too much time trying to find this, and never did .. Anyway, That's not my concern for now. The latest release notes contain something that I hope EN will put a switch for .. The AI Note Cleanup. No, this is not a diatribe against AI. I love GPT. But, I don't want any AI messing with the over 3,000 notes I have in my EN database. I have them arranged for a reason. I have notes that are 5 and 6 years old that have not been visited in many years. But, I need all of them to remain in place. They have information that I don't want automatically "cleaned up." Please, put a switch for this, or reassure us that that feature will not mess with any notes we have or the arrangement of notes we have. Thanks.
  10. Maybe put this on the wish list, I know EN 10 versions are in early stages and important features have to get up to speed. Please put on the wish list toggles for at least some of the Auto-formatting in new Win clients. Getting kinda tired of backing up with the hashtag # turning everything into heading, when I am trying to make a note and code with Perl, Py. Thanks. Nice job so far on the EN 10 version ..
  11. Recently took the plunge from legacy EN to Win Desktop Client v10.28.3. Encountering sync issues on a daily basis, working only from the Desktop Client I got a 235 mbps direct connection, don't have any connectivity problems I haven't tried to isolate conditions, but Yesterday, I was working only in Desktop Client, I had only one note open for about an hour, which wound up with a sync conflict. Today, I'm working for about 10 minutes in a note, just Desktop Client, this sync conflict more involved Both notes are interlinked with various things to the Home Widgets, and so I will go between the Home widgets link to the note and the regular Notebook list (left Panel). It seems that the more links I have to and from the Home widgets (Tasks, Calendar links, etc.) .. into even Pinned Notes and Filtered Notes.. the easier it is for the EN sync algorithms to lag and not update and cause conflicts. So, my current working theory is that EN server can't keep up with so many link references to/from notes using Home Widgets and the regular GUI.. I was having fun, actually liking the Home Widgets concepts, until I keep getting these sync issues. So, I'm gonna operate for a while entirely outside the Home Screen, using EN 10 only from the regular Panels, like the legacy EN.. and see what happens. Disconnected all Tasks, disconnected Calendar, Disconnected all use of the Pinned and Filtered Widgets .. It seems the more a note interacts with the widgets and linked functions, the more conflicts happen .. Also, the Android (12) Sort on stacked notebooks doesn't work Oh, well.. so much for the EN engineers figuring out the perfect auto-sync
  12. Thanks for all this info .. I think I just needed (1) good gripe session, moving from v6 --> v10 Overall, I do like the work flow and feel of EN 10 .. Been getting used to it for a week now EN web lacks the power of a desktop client No context menus, keyboard functions (del, etc.), or shortcuts
  13. The Ctrl+R seems to resolve the lack of a manual sync in the Desktop Client ver 10 Thanks for this tip ..
