Request (2011-2016): Persistent sort order

I'd like to be able to choose the sort order for my topics, and then have them remain without having to completely shut down Evernote. 

This idea was first mentioned in 2011. Nobody knew if the current way was a bug. A work-around was finally discovered and shared by another user, but there was no improvement in the code and no acknowledgment or comment from Evernote workers.
