In snippet view one can pull down a menu of notebooks by clicking on the tope of the snippets column. This is useful, but limited by a design flaw. The pull down menu is limited to a short excerpt of the notebooks list, regardless of how much screen is available for display. A much better design would be to have the list autosize to use the full vertical dimension of the screen (or the Evernote window). That would eliminate a LOT of scrolling of that notebook list.
The same could be accomplished by making the notebooks item in the sidebar pop out a list when clicked. (The current, semi-permanent show/hide notebooks feature of the sidebar is far to clumsy to help with this problem.)
A third solution would be to use the Mac OS menus in Evernote to show the notebooks list.
