Duplicate notes when importing from another account

Recommended Posts

Hello! I'm not a power user at all... more like a beginner.

Someone recently shared an account with me. I exported a notebook from that account, and imported it into my account. Now when I search I find both my note and the shared note. If I delete my note, I am left with only the shared note, so I can't change tags etc. If I delete the shared note, then the others will be penalized. I'm at a loss and would welcome some help! Thank you.

If you are going to keep the joined NB, why copy the NB to  your account?

But, if you need to do so, then you could add a tag to the copied Notes to indicate you copied it.  Maybe something like "From.AcctName"

then in your search, just add a tag of -tag:From.AcctName  to the searchbox, to exclude the Notes in your account that you have copied.

OTOH, you, or the owner, could add a tag of "Shared" to all Notes in the shared NB.

Then your search would be:  -tag:shared  to exclude the Notes in the shared account.
