Note disappeared during editing

I was editing the title of a note in Evernote desktop.  I opened the information window by clicking on "I" and I was deleting an area of the title using the delete key.  While I was doing that the entire note suddenly disappeared and no longer existed even in the Trash notebook.  Luckily, I had the information stored in another place where I could get it back.  What happened here?

 

I am using a Mac with Evernote desktop.

Thanks for reporting this -- what version of the Mac app were you using?

I'm using 6.1.1.  I just downloaded it from the App store a few days ago.  I've been doing a lot of editing in the information window because I'm converting my paperwork from another filing program.  My Mac is also up to date with everything.

 

I keep having the problem of the information window spontaneously closing while I am still working in it.  I don't know the trigger.  The instance of the note being deleted happened only once though.
