Font problems

I am using the latest Windows version of Evernote on a machine running Windows 10. My problems is twofold:

1) When i copy and paste into Evernote, the text in Evernote appears in a very small font, regardless of how big the cut text was. Is there a way to have the pasted text appear in the same font as the cut text?

2) The menu for changing font, color, etc does not always appear in a note and i thus have to right click on the text in order to make changes. How can i force evernote to always show the font menu bar?
