Sharing a note

If i wish to share a note with a friend using an email address, must my friend have evernote on his computer?

There are three ways to share a Note (not a Notebook) in Evernote:

1. Using Work Chat -- requires all recipients to have an EN account
2. Using a Public URL
3. Send a Note via email within Evernote

My preferred method is none of the above.

• Copy contents of Note, and send via your normal, preferred, email client (like Outlook or Gmail).
