Evernote icon disappears from Firefox

I've being using evernote in Firefox for a while w/o problems, but now the add-on icon has vanished, and I can't get it back. The add on is listed as installed in Firefox, but the icon is not there.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Evernote add on twice, but nothing changes. Using Windows 8.1 and latest version of Firefox.

Evernote in Google Chrome works normally.

I modified the History setting and the icon showed up. I don't understand why this happens, since it had been working OK for about a year with the old setting.
