Compatability with older 10.6 Snow Leopard

I have MacBook Air with 10.6, Snow Leopard. Tried installing Evernote, but it's to new, it wants 10.7 or higher. I'm looking for backwards compatability with an older version of OS-X 10.6. I know, why don't I jyst upgrade the OS? It's because I don't need to bog the computer down with Mavricks or Yosemite. Just want Evernote on all my devices. THen I'll start to pay of rPremium version.

EN Mac 5.5.2 was the last ver prior to the complete rewrite, and the last ver that will run on Mac OS X 10.6.x Snow Leopard.

However, there are many advantages to upgrading your Mac to at least Lion.

Personally, I really like Mavericks.
