2 items that continually pop up that are aggravating. Help?

1. When I select one or more note items to merge.....I get the dreaded multi color wheel that spins forever and nothing happens.  I have to shut the app down from my mac and restart the app.

 

2. When the app restarts, I am then able to successfully merge the set of notes that I'd like to join together.  When I hit enter, they simply disappear

 

Hassle factor is a 10.

 

Any ideas?

When you merge notes, they are combined into a single new note, and the originals are put in the trash. You can retrieve the originals from the trash if you want, but the assumption is that you wouldn't need them as the original information is now in the merged notes.
