delete voice note

can anyone tell me if its possible to delete only a voice or a picture to an existing note, cant seem to figure this out using my iPhone 4S or PC

• On iPhone you need to:
  • enter edit mode by tapping on the note
  • put the cursor just after the image/ audio recording
  • hit backspace
• On PC (desktop):
  • click within the note window/ panel
  • Right click on the image/ audio recording and "cut"... or pop the cursor just ahead of the element you want to delete
  • hit backspace

This is so straight-forward, I find myself wondering why it would be so difficult to figure this out - since, basically, it's the same as deleting any sort of text. Unless I'm missing something or barking up the wrong tree. I can't figure out why it can't be figured out, thus the nature of this comment. I do hope I can learn something out of this
