evernote:/// linkification

Hello!

I love the option to use evernote:/// links, store them in my Todo notes in the cloud and have the info I need available at a click.

But the links don't always appear as links. In ToodleDo, my online task management program, they work nicely. My guess is that the website linkifies the URLs explicitly.

On other websites they only work, when explicitly put into an anchor tag. I don't want to do that all the time (and sometimes can't).

Are you aware of any add-ons (for Chrome and Firefox), which linkify evernote:/// links? Or are you aware of how to configure any linkification add-on to do this? I have tried a few, but couldn't figure out how to set them up properly. Any other suggestions on how to make them work ubiquitously?

Thanks!

I am indeed having problems with a particular application. It's called Comindware Tracker and there are fields, which recognize normal http://, https:// and ftp:// links automatically, but don't do anything with evernote:/// links. Sidenote: news:// links are supported to create via the rich text editor, but are not automatically converted either

To be clear about what you are saying though: if an evernote:/// link is linkified it is done by the site and not the browser? And most sites just put an anchor around anything that looks like *://*?

Thank you!

An application (or web page) has to recognise a link to use it,  and the coding in the field you're using apparently doesn't recognise local links,  though it does accept internet page links.  It's a problem with that application rather than an Evernote issue - AFAIK the link is copied from EN as plain text.  You appreciate that evernote produces two types of note link - the "evernote:///" and the "https: // www.evernote.com / shard/..." version (spaces added so the link isn't abbreviated).  Have you tried both?

I think you are right. It is the website/application, that has to treat the url as a link and not just plain text.

I am ware of both formats and have tried both. The https:// links works, the evernote:/// doesn't. I agree that it isn't an Evernote issue (as in "bug in Evernote"). I am only looking for a solution to make the evernote:/// links in a more general way and I figured that someone here might have had the same desire and already found a solution. The links to the application are the ones that we want to use, as the application is just that much quicker to work with.
