can someone guide me to start using evernote?

Recommended Posts

Can someone help me start using evernote? I can not seem to be able to get past just getting the program to install on my pc.  I want to use the clipper function most of all.   I have a notebook (just a test) in evernote, I have the app on my cell and have sent things to my cell.  I can not get how to find the clipper on my taskbar on my browser and how to use it once I locate it.  I am new to windows 8.1 and together all of this has me frustrated.  my pc has windows 8.1, no touch screen just touch pad.  Please help me.

Hi. Sorry to hear about your trouble. Have you taken a look at the Evernote guide here?

You can find the clipper here.

However, my recommendation (if we are talking about the PC) is to download the desktop version of Evernote. It is a far superior app (in my opinion).

In this post I’m going to share 6 tips for getting started with Evernote which I think you will find helpful as you begin organizing your life and remembering everything.

Choice: Notebooks or Tags

To give you a visual think of a physical notebook in which you can put notes. Notes can only reside in one notebook.

Tags are created by you and can be associated with multiple notes. Notes can have multiple tags.

The Notebook Method

In this method you create a Notebook for each topic or general heading that you want to keep organized and place Notes appropriate to those topics into that Notebook.

The Tag Method

In this method you would create fewer Notebooks and use Tags, as well as the power of Evernote search, to organize your life

Create a special Gmail Account

Create an inbox notebook

Create a working notebook

Download and Use the Evernote iOS or Android App
