How do I delete tags?

Can anyone tell me how to delete unwantedtags?

You need to tell us first which Evernote client you are using (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, web, etc).

I'm using Windows 7, with synchronization to my Android phone.

You can delete tags altogether from your tag list in the tag tree in the left panel of your Evernote Windows client: open the "Tags" subtree, navigate to the tag you want to get rid of, select it and press the Delete key. You should get an "are you sure?" prompt. 

 

To remove a tag from a note, select the note, and find the tag in the tag list at the top of the note. Hover over the tag, and you should see an 'x' at the end of the tag name. Click on the 'x'. No "are you sure?" prompt for that.
