Clip not saved - or is it?

I'm a newbie here, so bear with me.

 

 

I just clipped my first piece of content, which evernote tells me was stored in a Notebook called "First Notebook". 

 

I would like to view that clip.

 

Evernote says "To access your saved Web Clip, simply browse in Evernote to the notebook it was saved to, then find it in the Note List."

 

I presume they mean they desktop app I downloaded and installed?

 

Well, there is a notebook called First Notebook - but there is nothing in there.

 

I don't even know if I saved it since there is Save button.  I see highlighted text, but nothing to indicate how to save it, or whether it actually is saved.

 

 

I would have attached a screen shot but Evernote won't let me - it's telling me I'm "not permitted" to upload a docx file.

Never mind - newbie figured out that he had to Synch.

 

But now I can't figure out how to clip a selection.  I highlight some text, and select "Selection."  When I save it, the entiire page is saved - with the selection I want highlighted.  I don't want the whole page - I just want the selection.  If I wanted the whole page, I'd have selected "Page".
