Cannot install Evernote 5.4

I tried to install the new update (5.4), and kept getting an error message. I then tried to uninstall the previous version, but now I keep getting an error saying "Evernote was already installed by another user. Only one per user installation is supported. An administrator can install EN after the per user installation is removed."

 

Using windows 7. Please help!!

There are some other posts about difficulty with this update,  and apart from one user who backtracked to a previous version I don't think I've seen a resolution.

 

I'd suggest that you report this to Support (see below) and since we're approaching a weekend you might also want to search around the forums here to see whether any other fixes have been posted which might help you.
