(Archived) Renaming Shortcuts (Feature Request)

When I rename a shortcut in Evernote, it renames my note. I usually rename common notes across my general and work notebooks like ToDo to ToDo - Work.

Not a big problem just not what I want to do since the note is already in the Work notebook.

Shortcuts are funny things in Evernote. The shortcut is apparently the thing that it's a shortcut for. In other words, if the shortcut is a to tag, a notebook, or a note, then "renaming" it is is exactly like renaming the referenced tag, a notebook, or the note. That may extend to shortcuts to saved searches as well; I just haven't tried that out yet.

Good to know, I'll probably make use of a tag shortcut ...but that makes me think they have to be links then ...and links have had a url and text since, like , HTML 1.1 :-P

 

PS, the timestamps on this forum aren't localized, looks like GMT to me.

They are not links in any HTML-ish way. They are just UI elements that behave similarly (in some cases identically) to the Evernote entities they refer to.

re the forum timestamps: You need to set your time zone in your user settings. Click on your name at the upper right of this page, select "My Settings", look for "Time Zone"
